Hey, guess what? Today we are featured on the Etsy blog in their Quit Your Day Job section!
We feel really honored that they wanted to let us tell our story of how we started out, and give our two cents on what it takes to make a side project become a full time career. We’ve taken advice from many people before us, and now it is our turn to pay it forward. So head on over to the Etsy blog, and read our interview! You can find it right here.
Well, look at this! 1canoe2 Letterpress was on the Today Show!!
That’s right. Two of our prints, and one of our coaster sets were featured in a Today Show segment on Monday about great gifts for teachers! It was definitely the highlight of our week! It was a little bit surreal, but mostly awesome, to see Natalie Morales and Elizabeth Mayhew talking about our work on national television.
We met Elizabeth Mayhew at the New York International Gift Fair back in January in NYC. She was very nice, and very complimentary of our work. So, when she contacted us last week about featuring us in her segment on Today we were thrilled! It’s pretty hard to beat exposure like that!
And, in case you missed it, click here to watch the actual segment.

We’re in a book!
A while back we were asked to be a contributor to a new book by Charlotte Rivers all about stationery. The idea was to create a compilation of the best designers, the many techniques, and the most groundbreaking designs used for handcrafted stationery and paper goods. The book came out not too long ago, and guess what? We made the cover. Our recipe card box is that photo in the bottom right corner! You can also find us on pages 72 and 73.
What a great little book! It really is beautiful, and we are just one of MANY talented artists and designers included in the collection. A shout out to some of our friends who are also featured…the gang at Hammerpress in Kansas City, Morris & Essex, and Rachel and Patricia at Fawnsberg. Way to go guys!
If you’d like to get your hands on a copy you can find it right here.

Hey, Look at this! We got news last week that our Outlaws of the Wild West print is featured in the March issue of Shop Til You Drop!
What? You don’t know that magazine? Well, to be honest, we didn’t either, but only because we don’t live in AUSTRALIA! It’s apparently a pretty big time magazine down there, so we are thrilled that they gave us some love.
A big thanks to our new friend Ashleigh for giving us the heads up, and for sending us a copy. Your reward is in the mail!

You might not be a regular reader of Brides Magazine, but if you’re waiting in the line at the grocery store this month you might want to flip through the August issue. We were thrilled when wedding planner extraordinaire, Tara Wilson, asked us to design some coasters for her article about ideas for wedding favors. It’s always exciting to see our work in the print media – you can check us out on page 140!
Or actually, on air. Our local NBC station, KOMU has a segment specific to our rural little county, and they wanted to do a story about our letterpress!
Here’s the link. They did a lovely job of portraying our little business in 2 minutes!
And here’s Karen…she did a fantastic job!
